6-month update

My, my!! time has really flown past. It's been almost 6 months since my last update - amazing! However, I have been quite busy. Lost my main source of employment, gained another very shortly afterwards and that's like ticking along in the background.

On the photography side, it seems to be maturing in leaps and bounds, although I would love to be able to convert all those spent man-hours into tangible income! I have added quite a number of collections to my gallery and I'm quite pleased with some of the comments and feedback against a few of them that I posted on FB. I've even got a few "likes" on Flickr!.

I've been engaged on my daughter's primary school Graduation Party and her final year Sports Day (no direct links to the photo collection from here, as I want to make sure I don't breaching any of those sensitive "child protection policy". If you do find them and are curious to review the contents, try entering the graduation year as a password (I can't provide any clearer hint than that!).

I was also present at the "Memoirs for our Future" an event organised by Zmirage Multimedia UK, aimed to let the younger folk have an audience with Professor Wole Soyinka, the Nigerian literary giant and one-time winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature, in commemoration of his birthday.

I have also covered a Confirmation Party, a small graduation commemoration party, a baby-naming ceremony, my documentation of a trip to Hastings, a tour of London Churches built by Sir Christopher Wren, one of the most highly acclaimed English architects in history; amongst others.

There is a remarkable sense of achievement when during your workflow you mark your photos as ready publish and upload them from your digital lab to whichever online medium they are to be shared with the world.

I think the next step in this journey is to develop the business side from the art that it is today and perhaps start seeing meaningful income without it jeopardising my main source (if that is possible, given there are only 24hrs in one day!). I think there is a trick I'm still missing somewhere. I have had my able "Marketing Assistant" wife and partner constantly pushing to promote and sometimes coerce commissions out of people, and I feel really blessed to have someone assume that role for free (for now!)

Apart from the commercial model being worked upon, there is still a lot of other development work to be done - The Qlitephotography Facebook page is not yet where I would like it to be, for instance.

Thanks for reading through. I'll keep you posted on progress on due course.
